It may not be Jaws, but for the man on the surfboard it's just as scary.
As he paddled along a huge seal with razor sharp teeth started swimming after him. Unsurprisingly the man immediately began paddling faster.
The fiercely territorial animals, nick-named Krays by locals, have been known to bite surfers who get too close.
Luckily for this man he escaped without injury, as the inquisitive seal was merely interested in taking a look at him while enjoying the September sun.
The rotund seals are well fed by fisherman in Newquay Harbour in Cornwall.
Local student, Michelle Gurney, captured the moment and said: 'I think the surfer was aware of the seal behind him and sped up, but the seal soon lost interest when a fishing boat came into the harbour, with the promise of some food.'
